Discovering Paris

I found you in Paris sitting alone,
But now you weren't because I came along.
I sat down and we started to chat
it was morning, oh wait no now its the night.
Time flies by when I'm with you,
It's Paris and its night so what should we do?
We ended up walking for miles and hours,
You went into a shop then came out with flowers.

For me I said.
Yes, he exclaimed.

It came with a note and said so what's your name?
I turned around and then you were gone,
I kept looking but I didn't for long.
Well what should I do?
So I sat down very confused.
A couple days later I received a note,
Saying sorry but I had to cross the road.

I guess you could say he found himself that night
In Paris no less, he finally found what was right.

My journey to Paris has taught me a lesson or two
Don't talk to guys who don't have a clue.
Or that Paris has some magical force,
Where people stay married and don't get divorced.
Where people dance the night away
And never want it to become the day.
All I can say is that if I had the chance
I'd go back to Paris and I'd dance.

If You Really Knew Me

I meet you for the first time
and as we greet
this is what I think...

If you really knew me you'd know that I sleep with
5 blankets. If you really knew me you'd know that I
have to measure out a recipe, I can't just guess. You'd
know that I want everything to be perfect, but it rarely
turns out that way.

If you really knew me you'd know that I am loud, crazy
and I blame it on my father's side of the family. You'd
know that my dad lost his job and he was unemployed
for 2 years. If you really knew me you'd know that I
work at a movie theater, and I love it.

If you really knew me you'd know that I won't judge
you and will most likely become your best friend with just
a hello. If you really knew me you'd know that my
actual name was going to be Louise. You'd also know
that I was named by my uncle, my last name is a city
in Switzerland and my nickname as a child was twinkle-toes.

If you really knew me you'd know that I absolutely
hate it when someone licks their fingers. You'd also know
that I hate it when people chomp really loud. If you really
knew me you'd know that I have a passion for drawing
and singing.

If you really knew me you'd know that I can't go a
day without string cheese. You'd also know that I
could snack on pickles all day. If you really knew me
you'd know that I love elephants and my dream in life
is to ride one.

So as we shake hands
and we finally greet
you ask me what I want to drink,
If you really knew me you'd know that
I'm craving lemonade.

I Am Officially Jealous

Love Poem with Toast

I liked the first line in this poem, "some of what we do, we do
to make things happen," it makes a lot of sense if you think about
it, plus this line is just brilliant "The rest of what we do, we do
trying to keep something from doing something" we do this all the
time; with a lie, or keeping your hair clean. Little things like that
make it so we're constantly doing something that isn't necessary,
if you really think about it.

We will always be wanting to do these things so we can move
forward with our lives. I like that part in the poem, and when it
lists things we want like, "wanting to be wanted."

But when it all comes down to it, your in love and you'll find
yourself thinking about it at breakfast just pretending and lying to your self.
"as each of us wants the other watching at
the end, as both want not to leave the other
alone, as wanting to love beyond this meat
and bone, we gaze across breakfast and pretend."
